Exercise & Fitness at Back and Body Pain Relief
Supporting Active People in Springfield, NJ
Back and Body Pain Relief is a multidisciplinary clinic at 355 Route 22 E, Suite D, Springfield Township, NJ 07081. We support active individuals and athletes at every level — from helping people return to exercise after injury or pain, to optimising movement quality and preventing injury in those who want to keep training for years to come.
Many of our patients come to us not just because they are in pain, but because pain or injury has forced them out of the gym, off the field, or away from the activities they love. Getting you back to exercising safely — and keeping you there — is central to what we do. Our on-site rehabilitation gym, combined with our multidisciplinary team, allows us to bridge the gap between clinical treatment and real-world fitness in a way that a standard PT clinic cannot.
Who We Help
- Athletes returning from injury — structured return-to-sport rehabilitation with objective criteria for full clearance
- People starting exercise after a break — addressing pain, movement limitations, and weaknesses before they become injuries
- Gym-goers with training-related pain — identifying and correcting the mechanical causes of lifting and training injuries
- Runners with recurring injuries — biomechanical assessment and rehabilitation to break the cycle of running injuries
- CrossFit, HIIT, and functional fitness participants — managing the high-load demands of intense training programmes
- Older adults wanting to stay active — maintaining mobility, strength, and function to support an active lifestyle long-term
- Post-surgical patients returning to fitness — bridging from clinical rehabilitation to independent exercise
Our Approach
We combine clinical assessment with a thorough understanding of how the body moves under load. Our team evaluates movement quality, identifies weaknesses and restrictions, and builds personalised plans that progress systematically — addressing current pain while building the resilience to prevent future injury.
Our on-site rehabilitation gym allows therapy to be conducted at the intensities that real-world fitness demands — not just on a treatment table. This is the environment where the clinical work becomes lasting change.

🏥 Exercise & Fitness Services at Back and Body Pain Relief
We support active people through every stage of the exercise lifecycle — from injury recovery to performance optimisation — using our full range of clinical treatments and our on-site rehabilitation gym.
🏃 Physical Therapy & Rehab
Sport-specific and activity-specific rehabilitation programmes built around your goals and your training. Our physical therapists understand how bodies move under load — and design progressions that prepare you fully for the demands of your sport or training programme, not just for daily life.
🦴 Chiropractic Care
Joint mobility, spinal health, and nervous system function all support exercise performance and recovery. Regular chiropractic care is used by elite athletes not just for injury treatment but for performance maintenance — and our CCSP and CCEP-certified chiropractor understands this application deeply.
💥 Shockwave Therapy
For the tendinopathies and chronic soft tissue issues that repeatedly derail training — Achilles, patellar tendon, rotator cuff, IT band — shockwave therapy provides tissue-level healing that allows training to resume and continue.
🤲 Medical Massage
Recovery-focused soft tissue therapy targeting the muscles and fascial systems under load from training — reducing recovery time, improving tissue quality, and preventing the accumulation of micro-trauma that leads to overuse injury.
💡 Class IV Laser Therapy
Accelerates recovery from training-related tissue stress and acute injuries — reducing inflammation and supporting cellular repair so you can return to training sooner and train more consistently.
🧘 Acupuncture
Sports acupuncture supports training recovery, manages chronic pain from overuse, and addresses the musculoskeletal stress that accumulates from demanding training programmes.
💉 Pain Management
For acute training injuries requiring immediate pain relief — trigger point injections and electric stimulation allow rehabilitation to begin sooner and progress more effectively.
🌀 Spinal Decompression
For the disc and nerve compression conditions that heavy training loads can precipitate — spinal decompression provides effective relief and allows training modification while healing progresses.
Exercise & Fitness FAQs
Can I keep training while I’m being treated?
In most cases, yes — with appropriate modifications. Complete rest is rarely the optimal approach for training-related injuries, and our team will advise you on what you can continue doing safely while your injury is treated. Staying as active as possible within your capacity supports both recovery and long-term fitness.
I keep getting the same injury — can you help?
Yes. Recurring injuries almost always have underlying causes — movement pattern faults, muscular imbalances, load management errors, or structural issues — that are not addressed by simply treating the injury each time it occurs. Our assessment approach identifies these root causes and addresses them directly.
Do you work with runners specifically?
Yes. Running injuries are a large part of our caseload. We assess running biomechanics, training load, footwear, and muscular function to identify why injuries keep occurring — and build rehabilitation plans that address those causes rather than just managing symptoms.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. Call 908-325-3000 or book online.
Can you help older adults stay active?
Absolutely. Maintaining strength, mobility, and fitness as we age requires an understanding of how ageing bodies respond to training load and recovery. Our team works with older adults to keep them active safely — addressing pain, movement limitations, and the specific challenges of exercise in later life.
