The coronavirus and quarantine has made a major impact on society and life as we know it. It can be difficult to remain positive during these trying times, but there are things that you can do to help yourself to stay positive through all of this.
Get fresh air:
If you are feeling low or depressed, it could mean that you are lacking vitamin D. Being inside can cause a lack of vitamin D; a nutrient needed to maintain strong and healthy bones. A perfect way to bring your vitamin D back up is to spend at least 30 minutes outside per day. It may be hard to get yourself up and out of bed and outside, but once you do, you’ll feel great and more motivated.
Create a routine:
Without a routine, you may feel stressed, unorganized, and not have a purpose. Creating a daily routine for yourself to follow will help you stay on track with things to do, and it feels great to cross all of your responsibilities off of your list. Take some time to write everything you have to do out in a notebook or agenda; even small things like making your bed or brushing your teeth. At the end of the day, you will feel much more accomplished.
Don’t be so hard on yourself:
Last, remember to not be so hard on yourself. Society is functioning very differently, which means you are too. It’s okay to forgive yourself if you don’t get everything on your list done in the same time you normally would. It’s okay that you’re not as active or healthy as you were before this. Give yourself a break, and remember that you are doing your best with what you have.
Although we are in a very unknown time, there are plenty of small steps that you can take to help yourself stay positive and remain hopeful. By implementing these 3 things into your routine, you should see a huge difference in your mood and attitude. Please stay safe and healthy, and remember that we are in this together!
