10 Reasons to Make Chiropractic Part of Your Healthcare Plan

Chiropractic care isn’t just for those times you need a little help with a pain issue.  Chiropractic is a means of maintaining balance and function in your body by keeping the spine in alignment.  When your spine is aligned, things just work better.

This post outlines 10 reasons to make chiropractic part of your healthcare plan.  If you’re proactive about your health, then you need to know how chiropractic can help you stay healthy, strong and ready for whatever life throw at you.

1. Homeostasis

Homeostasis is the state of a well-balanced body in which all systems are functioning well.  Chiropractic helps you maintain your body in this uniquely beneficial status by adjusting your spine to be in alignment.  Spinal alignment contributes to the health of all your physical systems, leading to clearer thought, better mobility and better overall health.

2. Safe and drug-free

Chiropractic is a completely non-invasive, painless and safe therapy.  In my work, I seek to make it possible for the body to perform its incredible self-healing feats by keeping everything ticking along as it should.

3. Better nerve conduction

Your nervous system is like an in-house communications hub.  It lets your brain know when there’s a problem.  When it’s working at its best, your entire body benefits.  Regular adjustments keep your nervous system functioning at its best and most communicative.

4. Enhanced mobility/flexibility

When your spine isn’t in proper alignment, mobility and flexibility can take a hit.  Nerves become compressed and your extremities lose crucial function.  Chiropractic adjustments prevent poor alignment from “trickling down” to the rest of your body and causing problems.

5. Better posture

An aligned spine allows for naturally good posture.  Your chiropractor will also advise you about posture fixes, both sitting and standing.  Many people are unaware of the importance of posture on good physical function and chiropractic can raise your awareness enormously.

We all know stress is bad for us.  We also know that many physical problems can arise due to stress.  Chiropractic care is one of the best ways to address the effects of stress on the body, as a natural response that resets the body and its reaction to stress.

Active people can benefit significantly from chiropractic, due to its positive impact on general mobility. Proper spinal alignment means your nervous system is set to “high performance”.

Many of my patients come to me for this benefit alone.  They tell me that chiropractic helps them enjoy sound, uninterrupted sleep, which enhances general health and wellness.

9. Prevention of pain issues

When the spine is out of alignment, all kinds of difficulties can arise.  Dysfunction in the spine has a cascading effect because our bodies compensate when things are out of whack.  Regular adjustments prevent future pain issues.

10. Digestive health

The final benefit of regular chiropractic care is better digestion, including the prevention of heartburn and a better regulated “disposal” system.
