We’re delighted to announce our new Springfield acupuncture therapist is available again at Back and Body Pain Relief. Our new acupuncturist will be here Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week to help patients with this other option for pain relief.
Our new acupuncturist is a Jersey Boy, born and bred and also educated here. His name is David Dias and comes from nearby Newark. He studied at Kean University and entered the field as a physical therapist assistant.
This gave him a solid introduction in being able to understand the body mechanics on a practical level and this led to his decision to return to school to study acupuncture.
Again, he remained in New Jersey to continue his education as he attended Eastern Acupuncture School. This really helped him understand the treatment of the patient as a whole being, rather than simply focusing on any one particular pain point.
So what does acupuncture do to help the body?
Using sterile needles, the acupuncturist will place needles over your body at strategic points, typically near nerve endings. These needles are said to help the body release endorphins which help relieve the patient’s body of pain. Sometimes the effects are felt immediately.
Depending on the nature and condition of the patient, relief may be felt after just one treatment or it may take longer with 8 to 12 treatments being needed.
David will always ensure that you are being taken care of and that you are told of what to expect at each treatment. Moreover, if an additional treatment is needed along with acupuncture, he, along with the rest of our team, will collaborate to help determine the best course of action should this be the case.
Acupuncture is something which insurance often covers, but please do not hesitate in contacting us should you wish verification of your own insurance plan to ensure you are covered.
So, David is here Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to offer acupuncture services, but don’t forget, we have a multitude of other pain relieving services including chiropractic, physical therapy, cold laser therapy, medical massage, spinal decompression therapy and more, all these services offered Monday through Friday.
