We can also give you some other tips to help you along the way.
Pillows and Mattresses
This will be a key aspect in helping your back pain. Studies have shown medium to firm mattresses seem to be best for most people, but of course, whatever feels best for you is the way to go. For pillows, there is a great choice, including cubed shape pillows.
Pre- Bed
Some things to be aware of before going to bed. Set your temperature to about 68F so that you won’t sweat. Take a warm bath or shower before. Don’t eat heavily prior to going to bed, no alcohol or caffeine and of course, leave the electronics out of the room.
In Bed
Try not to lay on your stomach as this is one of the worst sleeping postures. If you struggle to not sleep that way, wear a sleep shirt with a tennis ball on your front. On your side in the fetal position is perhaps the best way to sleep. If on your back is your favorite way, then put a pillow under your knees.
Also, try and keep a good routine going and try to relax when going to bed. Sleep should be all about rest and relaxing.
With back pain, it can be troublesome and if the above doesn’t help you then please schedule a time to come in and see us. We have helped many people relieve pain which means they also get good sleep each night.
