3 Ways to Help Back Pain
One of the most frequent issues people suffer from it back pain. In fact, about 80% of Americans will experience back pain in the span of their lives.
Often times, patients who come to our Manhattan office suffer from back pain. These are three ways to help back pain and what you can do.
Compression of the joints is usually the main reason of back pain. Joints can compress in all different ways such as working out, working, and just gravity alone. The compression can trap the nerves which allows them to inflame from not functioning properly.
Ice is nice
Ice allows the joints to decompress, and work freely. Icing the area of pain in 20 minute intervals on and off is best for your joints. Be careful not to leave the ice pack on for more than 20 minutes. The most beneficial time to ice is before going to bed.
Yoga helps stretch the joints
Practicing yoga daily allows the back to stay in great condition and helps to prevent further problems. Yoga stretches the muscles while simultaneously decompressing the joints. Yoga is also wonderful for focus and a great way of keeping your body and mind in tip top shape.
Chiropractic care
“Chiropractic is the science, philosophy, and art that utilizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.” With that being said, joints can also be decompressed through chiropractic care along with many other benefits. These include breaking up scar tissue and adhesions. The body is able to return to normal and is pain free with these things being adjusted. Even if you do not have back pain, practice of these three things helps to make sure they will not become a problem in the future.
